Hi, I'm Jack, and I'm 13. I'll teach your kid how to cast, bait a hook, tie a fishing knot, and safely reel in a fish. No experience or equipment needed.
Book a Lesson
Every lesson covers the basics: everything a beginner needs to get started.
I'll show you the two fishing knots I use most.
Learn how to put bait on a hook and choose a simple lure for pond fishing.
We'll practice casting until you can get your line out where you want it.
When a fish bites, I'll walk you through reeling it in without losing it.
Everybody gets tangles. I'll show you how to undo them instead of giving up.
How to hold a fish gently, plus little tips I've picked up over the years.
Beginner Fishing Lesson
60 minutes · One beginner angler · Rod, tackle, and bait included
One-on-one lessons at a public pond on the South Shore, MA. Scheduling is flexible, so we'll find a time that works for you.
I'm 13 years old and I've loved fishing since I caught my first fish when I was little. I usually fish local ponds for bass, sunfish, and pickerel. I started these lessons because fishing can be frustrating when nobody shows you how to set up the rod, cast, or fix a tangled line. I like helping younger kids learn the basics and hopefully catch their first fish.
Lessons are best for beginner anglers roughly ages 5–12. If your child is a little older or younger and wants to learn, just ask.
